The Northwest, throughout the Farmington Valley region there are the fields, the Farmington River, and woods dotted around the countryside known for its pastoral tranquility.  When we reference Farmington Valley, generally we refer to the larger principal towns of Avon Farmington , and  Simsbury . In and amongst these towns you’ll find old-fashioned Yankee hospitality and a preserved Connecticut character with colonial charm and comfort.  There are beds and breakfasts, inns, restraurants, mills, taverns and farms.  Recreation is well represented, well beyond what we could list in a single paragraph, with polo grounds, camps, golf courses and much more.  There is much to do as each season approaches with plenty of participation for the traditions that have taken place over many years.  It is home of Connecticut's blue ribbon trout streeam, 1st Company Govenor's Horse Guards, and many historic sites.
